The Art of Cold-Pressed Oil

Extracted from groundnut, sesame, and coconut without heat or chemicals, ensuring nature’s original nutrients, aroma, and therapeutic properties remain completely preserved.

📜 The Ancient Origin

Originating thousands of years ago in India, Chekku Ennai (Tamil) or Ghani oil was traditionally extracted using wooden presses and bulls. These oils formed the very foundation of Ayurvedic and Siddha medicine.

🌳 The Power of Vagai Maram

Vagai wood is historically chosen for the chekku (oil press) because it is naturally heat-controlling. It absorbs friction, keeping the oil temperature below 30°C. Unlike metal machines, Vagai wood never introduces heat or metallic toxins into the oil.

The Traditional Extraction Journey

1

Sourcing & Drying

Seeds are cleaned and sun-dried for 2–3 days to naturally reduce moisture.

2

Slow Extraction

Bullocks rotate a pestle in the Vagai wood press, slowly crushing the seeds.

3

Zero High Heat

Friction is absorbed by the wood, keeping temperatures near room level (~30°C).

4

Natural Filtration

Oil settles for 2–3 days, allowing sediment to sink naturally before bottling.

Why Our Method is Superior

Machine Pressed

Wood/Metal Expeller

  • Heat: ~45°C – 70°C (Moderate)
  • Speed: Medium to fast
  • Nutrients: Partially preserved
  • Aroma: Mildly natural
  • Yield: Higher quantity

Bull-Driven Vagai Chekku

The Ayushmat Standard

  • Heat: Below 30°C (Very Low)
  • Speed: Slow, patient & careful
  • Nutrients: 100% Preserved
  • Aroma: Strong & authentic
  • Yield: Quality over quantity

Refined Oil

Industrial Process

  • Heat: ~120°C – 250°C (Extreme)
  • Speed: Fast, mass production
  • Nutrients: Destroyed by heat/chemicals
  • Aroma: Odorless & tasteless
  • Yield: Maximum volume
